Thanksgiving to Christmas: Celebrating Moments That Matter

Good morning! I’m back with the blog—just like that persistent penny you thought was gone but keeps showing up. DJ, let’s kick off the morning with some music. It feels like the perfect day for a little Technotronic from the ’90s. Remember them?

Yep my music tastes are all over the place. I had read this piece about how, by a certain age, most of your musical tastes are set and ingrained unless you force yourself out of your comfort zone and engulf your musical side of your brain in new experiences. Otherwise, it just rests on what it’s known to be true.

Night Clubs

My stepson went to a nightclub last night, and I’ve been finding humor in it all day. To say he’s not the most ambitious person in the world might be an understatement. The thought of him walking into a nightclub with an attitude like, “Ladies, here I am!” is amusing enough. Adding to the comedy, he hasn’t held a job in over a year, so the idea of him spending money on $30 watered-down vodka drinks is equally entertaining.

I think I’ve hit that stage in life where I’m officially old-fashioned. I believe you should have your life somewhat together before diving into romance. Then I remember my own past and think, “Wow, who let me date?” Old-fashioned wisdom, new-age hypocrisy.

Thanksgiving

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I truly felt spoiled with delicious food and great company. Engaging conversations, laughter, and incredible meals—there’s absolutely nothing to complain about. On a positive note, we had the opportunity to meet our good friends, Mike and Sharon, as they were in town. A win-win situation all around.

Christmas

As we approach the final stretch to Christmas, is it something you eagerly anticipate? I love diving into Christmas films during this time. My favorites include *Love Actually* and *The Family Man*. Of course, *Elf* also makes the list!
