Happy Halloween, ghost-chasers! As we celebrate All Hallows’ in 2025, I can’t help but think about how much we need the Ghostbusters right about now. And no, I’m not talking about the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man terrorizing New York—though with the way things are going, that might actually be an improvement.

The Hair Raising Truth

Let’s address the elephant in the room: Why is it that when Sigourney Weaver got possessed by Zuul in the original Ghostbusters, the first thing to go absolutely bonkers was her hair? I mean, demonic possession apparently comes with a complimentary blowout from hell. Dana Barrett went from sensible cellist to looking like she stuck her finger in an electrical outlet during a windstorm. Forget the levitation or the creepy voice—the real special effect was that perm from the underworld. I guess when you’re the Gatekeeper, you need to maintain a certain level of volume.

Crossing the Streams in 2025

If Ray, Peter, Venkman, and Egon were around today, they’d have their hands full. The political discourse has gotten so toxic, even Slimer would be like, “Guys, this is too much for me.” We’ve got enough hot air floating around Washington to power a dozen proton packs.
And speaking of supernatural events, can we talk about how baseball season. The Dodgers are going from injured to looking like sure favorites for the World Series, to the Blue Jays being a dominating force. The drama, the tension, the impossible comebacks—honestly, I’m convinced some teams made deals with entities from other dimensions. There’s no other explanation for some of those ninth-inning rallies.

Modern Ghost Hunting

The Ghostbusters would definitely struggle in our modern era. Imagine trying to catch paranormal entities when half your team is distracted by their phones. “Ray, did you get a reading on that Class 5 full-roaming vapor?” “Hold on, I’m updating my Instagram story about this ghost trap.” Plus, with everyone having Ring doorbells, every paranormal sighting would go viral before they even got their jumpsuits on.

And don’t even get me started on the EPA regulations today. Walter Peck would have a field day shutting down unlicensed nuclear accelerators in 2025. “You’re running this equipment without proper permits? And using it in a residential area? Sir, I’m going to need you to cease all ectoplasmic activities immediately.”

Stay Frosty, Stay Spooky

So this Halloween, channel your inner Ghostbuster. Don’t be afraid of no ghost. Cross those streams when necessary. And remember: if someone asks if you’re a god, you say yes. Also, maybe invest in some good hair products—you know, just in case Zuul comes calling.
Who knows? Maybe the real ghosts were the friends we made along the way. Or maybe they’re just the ones who ghosted us after borrowing money. Either way, happy haunting!
