From the mysteries of sock disappearances in the laundry to the age-old question of whether pineapple belongs on pizza, we’ll cover it all! So grab your favorite snack, sit back, and prepare for a rollercoaster of thoughts that might just make you giggle or raise an eyebrow. Let’s dive in and see where this wild ride takes us! I’m kidding about covering the pineapple on the pizza debacle. But first – DJ play that music. It seems like a good morning for some Linkin Park – Castle of Glass.
Wow! That music video is just so powerful, with so many well-placed images.
Moving on….
John Bolton was on CNN talking about the ceasefire deal with Hamas and Israel. He makes a valid assessment that you’re giving a terrorist organization more time to recoup and build its next attacks. He also dives into the dangers of the current possible cabinet appointees.
Confirmation Hearings
I really respect Mark Kelly. It’s not just about what he’s done, like his incredible achievements in space and as a senator, but also everything he and his family have been through. They’ve faced some tough challenges, from personal losses to public scrutiny, and through it all, they’ve shown a lot of strength.
Maybe that’s why I don’t appreciate or understand the lack of seriousness of all the nominees taking their appointments. People may say it’s the status quo. Was it always? Of course not. The discourse has evolved into this. Why don’t we put them under oath for this? They should have to answer the questions—regardless of party affiliation.
Seriously, each time they say ‘hypothetical’ and refuse to answer, take a drink—water or beer. You’ll either be fully hydrated or completely drunk and fall out of your chair.
RIP Bob Uecker
Bob Uecker, affectionately known as “Mr. Baseball,” left an indelible mark on the world of sports and entertainment before passing away at the age of 90 on January 16, 2025. Born in Milwaukee on January 26, 1935, Uecker’s journey from a mediocre Major League Baseball player to a beloved broadcaster and cultural icon is a testament to his wit, charm, and enduring spirit.
Uecker’s self-deprecating humor about his less-than-stellar playing career became his trademark. With a .200 career batting average and only 14 home runs over six seasons, he often joked, “I led the league in ‘Go get ’em next time'”. This ability to find humor in his shortcomings endeared him to fans and fellow players alike. After hanging up his cleats, Uecker found his true calling behind the microphone. In 1971, he became the voice of his hometown Milwaukee Brewers, a position he held for an remarkable 54 seasons. His distinctive style, peppered with witty observations and colorful anecdotes, made him a fan favorite across generations. Uecker’s famous catchphrase, “Juuuuust a bit outside,” became part of baseball lexicon
Lastly….
We have dinner with our friends the Thomas’ tonight. They’re usually good for a lot of fun, witty banter, which is needed with all the stress we’ve been under with our dog Bella. She has Addison’s disease, which is something you’re constantly dealing with, or they can die. We’ve had that successfully under control for nearly two years, and this month, she was in what’s called ‘Addison’s Crisis, ‘ which is where your electrolytes get all out of wack and your kidneys/heart can fail. So it’s a race then to get the dog out of Addison’s Crisis, which consists of IV treatment and injections.
Hope you have an excellent Thursday.
