Good morning. It’s a little bit late on this Tuesday morning that I’m writing this. I honestly don’t know why I bother mentioning the time I’m publishing this, as you may be reading it a week later. Let’s start with some music. It seems like a good morning for some Eurythmics.
Golf
My golf game yesterday was best described as scrappy—some solid shots mixed with plenty of less-than-stellar ones. Considering the minimal practice I’ve done, I can’t expect much more. Losing so much weight has helped improve my club head speed, but it’s thrown off my timing.
WSJ Debt
Wall Street is raising concerns about the growing U.S. debt crisis as interest on the national debt surpasses $1 trillion annually. Experts like Jamie Dimon, Ray Dalio, and Peter Orszag are warning of potential cracks in the bond market and economic instability due to unsustainable fiscal policies. The recently proposed tax-and-spending measure, “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” could significantly increase national debt over the next decade. While some investors remain calm, others fear a tipping point where bond market anxiety could spiral into a crisis. They had a good write-up here. Rand Paul in the below video makes a lot of valid points. I was against the massive spending that occurred under the Biden administration and kept asking, ‘When are we going to take this seriously?!?’
Nikki
Nikki has a way to just make me laugh all the time. Her crass humor, for whatever reason just hits the right spot.
I’ve started recording late-night programming – Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel, as the late-night programs are decent. At least in terms of laughs.
Kevin Smith, writer and director, appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to discuss the 25th anniversary of his film ‘Dogma.’ He shared insights about casting Alan Rickman, known for his role as Hans Gruber in ‘Die Hard,’ and reflected on Rickman’s involvement in the project. I found it most interesting that he agreed to work for Kevin for the actors guild’s minimum wage. Of course, Kevin pointed out that he followed this up with his big paycheck for his work with Harry Potter.
On that note I’ll bid you farewell for today and wish you a terrific Tuesday
