Good morning. It’s November 25th and we’re three days away from Thanksgiving. Yep! it’s almost upon us. DJ play that music.
Lets play catch up over the weekend. Saturday morning started with a Better Ball tournament with my friend Jimmy. He’s a good guy to partner with as it’s enjoyable, the banter is fun, and we’re each pushing one another. It probably wasn’t the greatest idea to start a lesson a few days before the tournament. I just couldn’t get into a groove and find my swing. But, as the expression goes, ‘you keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.’ Translation: Something has to change.
Evening we had dinner with our friends Eric and Nicole. Usually, we play cards, but lately it’s been hours of just talking about our lives, sharing stories and laughter that deepen our friendships. Highly enjoyable, especially when my wife lets out some of her ‘Dani-isms.’ It makes for an interesting evening.
Yep, folks, sorry I’m not on the Elon Genius parade. Geniuses create things. Scientific equations, mathematical breakthroughs, or they lead as pioneers in their respective fields. Elon isn’t truly any of these, as remarkable as some of his ventures may appear to fans. Electric cars have been around forever, and the Space Shuttle concept has existed for decades. Sure, catching the Space Shuttle and being able to reuse it is really cool, it wasn’t created or designed by Elon. It was the collective effort of many brilliant minds before him. Maybe we’re a little loose as a society with the word ‘Genius,’ applying it to individuals based on celebrity status rather than true groundbreaking achievements or innovative advancements that change the world. The conversation sparked a riveting debate about how we define genius and who deserves that title.
Cabinet Picks
Does anyone else have a problem with these cabinet picks? Why are they pseudo-celebrities and not people who know what they’re doing in their respective fields? One of the best takes is probably from Peter below. On the campaign trail, Trump would talk about how he made terrible decisions in picks, and he learned from that and wouldn’t make the same mistake. These look like primarily political appointments and talking TV show heads.
Thanksgiving
As Turkey Day approaches, my scale has already started sending me passive-aggressive messages, and my pants have officially gone on strike. It’s a glorious time of year when we voluntarily trade our six-pack for a turkey-and-stuffing-filled potbelly, and I must say, the transformation is nothing short of miraculous. I can already feel the elastic waistband embracing me like a warm hug before the feast. The kitchen is a battlefield, with flour flying and pies wrestling for prime counter space, and somehow, every Pinterest recipe is just a clever ruse for adding extra pounds. Just remember: calories don’t count when you’re wearing festive pants, so bring on the gravy and let the holiday weight gain commence!
Petco Park Driving Range
The offseason they turn Petco Park into a kind of celebrity driving range. One of the YouTube shows I watch ‘Tequilla at the Turn’ one of the hosts Karoli got to participate and hit some balls at Petco Park. Video below.
Lastly….One More Thing
I am incredibly proud of my daughter for finishing 7th in her State Band competition! Her hard work, dedication, and passion for music truly shone through during the entire year. Seeing her perform with such confidence and skill was a remarkable experience, and it was evident that she poured her heart into every note. This achievement not only reflects her talent but also the countless hours of practice and commitment she has invested in her craft. I couldn’t be happier for her and can’t wait to see where her musical journey takes her next!
Have a good Monday everyone!
