Celebrating Thanksgiving: A Journey to Christmas

Good morning. Let’s get this blog off to a good start. Some music, perhaps. I also hope you’ve enjoyed the look of the blog as we’re on the road to Christmas.

Yep. As you can tell, my musical tastes are all over the place, ranging from classical symphonies that soothe the soul to upbeat rock anthems that get me dancing in the kitchen. How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was excellent, filled with warmth and laughter, with everything from days long past that brought back lots of cherished memories of family gatherings and holiday traditions. The turkey was excellent, perfectly cooked with golden-brown skin, as was the stuffing, seasoned to perfection; of course, the cranberries added a delightful tartness to the meal, and then the Apple and Pumpkin pie, which provided the sweetest ending to the feast. My wife did an outstanding job, pouring her heart into every dish, which made the day even more special as we shared stories and gratitude around the beautifully set table.

And how was your day after Thanksgiving? Yep. I’m one of these people.

The Christmas tree went up, and Christmas music is playing on all the speakers throughout the house. There are also Christmas lights up outside. Check and check.

Christmas Movies

Whilt it is the season for Christmas movies, it’s also the season for the Oscar nominated year end films to make their appearances. I recently sat through Conclave.

Here are the top ten Christmas movies to watch this holiday season:

  1. The Holiday
  2. Love Actually
  3. Home Alone
  4. It’s a Wonderful Life
  5. A Christmas Carol (various adaptations)
  6. Elf
  7. Miracle on 34th Street
  8. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
  9. The Nightmare Before Christmas
  10. A Charlie Brown Christmas

Enjoy the festive spirit with these classics! The only one I didn’t have on the list is Die Hard. Which, to me, is definitely a Christmas movie.

Have a good Sunday everyone!
