High Octane Mornings: Rob Zombie and Family Stories

Good morning! It’s Monday. I think we need something that’s high octane this morning. So that calls for Rob Zombie.

It was nice to have a visit from a family friend, Sharon. It’s pleasant to have so many family stories where you know all the cast of characters and have so many time-built stories. Or maybe I’m phrasing it wrong because it’s nice that you can pick up right where you left off. Seeing my wife so happy with a dear friend of hers in town was very nice. Enter the near-endless jokes of my wife and Elon Musk. Well, the source material is nearly endless. What do you think, Elon?

The weekend brought us another chapter in the “How did we get here?” saga of modern entertainment, as the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on Netflix became less about boxing and more about ring girl Sydney Thomas, who emerged as the event’s unexpected star. The 20-year-old University of Alabama student and Fashion Nova model trended worldwide.

Speaking of painful defeats, the Chicago Bears found yet another creative way to break their fans’ hearts on Sunday. In a nail-biting finish against the Packers, the Bears were positioned for a potential game-winning field goal, only to have Cairo Santos’s 46-yard attempt blocked as time expired, resulting in a gut-wrenching 20-19 loss. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams had masterfully positioned the team for victory, but in true Bears fashion, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, marking their fourth straight loss.

On this day in history, a technological revolution began when Bell Telephone officially rolled out push-button telephones to the public on November 18, 1963. This groundbreaking advancement meant customers no longer had to wind a rotary dial and wait for it to spin back when dialing each number. The system used dual-tone multi-frequency technology, which would become the worldwide standard for telecommunication signaling. Interestingly, despite its revolutionary nature, it took until the 1980s for push-button phones to become the majority in US homes. Also on this day, Mickey Mouse made his debut in “Steamboat Willie” (1928), St. Peter’s Basilica was consecrated in Rome (1626), and tragically, the Jonestown massacre occurred in Guyana (1978).

In other news, I’m unsure what the below will look like. Is the military going to go door to door checking credentials and going through homes? The military isn’t designed for such a domestic task and could get quite ugly with people. Can you imagine doing the due process for all the immigrants and the expenditures involved? Don’t get me wrong, I favor a legal process and paying taxes.

I’ve seen some short putts missed. But, usually, they’re backhanded putts. This looked like a mild effort was made.

Lastly…..

The hot topic I enjoy discussing with people is AI and how to use it best. Ben Affleck also gave an extensive interview while talking about it and got very candid about the strengths of AI and also the drawbacks as it relates to movies.
