Good morning everyone. I took a few days off from blogging mainly because I had early tee times and then didn’t quite feel like putting out a blog post at 2 pm. DJ – lets play that music. It’s time for some morning ‘Sweet Dreams’
The much-hyped Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight turned out to be less “Iron Mike” and more “Tired Mike” as the 58-year-old boxing legend went the distance with the 27-year-old YouTuber in a rather underwhelming affair. The 70,000 fans at AT&T Stadium were so thrilled, they started leaving early – now that’s what I call a knockout… of audience retention!
While Paul walked away with a unanimous decision victory, the real unanimous decision from social media crowned a different champion of the night – Ring Girl Sydney Thomas. Making only her second appearance as a ring girl, the University of Alabama student probably had more impressive footwork around the ring than both fighters combined.
The Real Entertainment
The selection process for ring girls must have been rigorous – you know, testing their solutions for climate change, checking FICO scores, and probably their stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Sydney Thomas clearly aced all these crucial boxing-related qualifications!
Between rounds, fans got to witness what they actually paid for – Sydney and her fellow ring girls, including Venezuelan social media sensation Virginia Sanhouse, Brazilian model Raphaela Milagres, and veterans Lexi Williams and Delia Sylvain. Let’s be honest, when 80,000-plus people at AT&T Stadium started leaving early, they weren’t leaving because of the ring girls.
At least Sydney Thomas got to add “ring girl” to her resume, which is probably more exciting than adding “beat up a senior citizen” to Jake Paul’s.
Bill Maher
As usual, Bill hits the nail on the head.
Have a good Saturday everyone!
