Good morning. It’s a good morning to blog. Let’s get this blog off and rolling, shall we? It’s April 16th. DJ play that music.
Rory. Rory. Rory.
Rory achieved a significant milestone by winning The Masters, thus completing his career Grand Slam in golf. He now proudly holds titles in all major championships: the US Open, The Open (British Open), the PGA Championship, and finally, The Masters.
I enjoyed seeing his friend Shane Lowry be one of the first to congratulate Rory.
Anna Jackson had a good short sit down with Rors.
Regarding The Masters, the last point I’d like to highlight is the evolution of photography. In the past, photographers captured wide-angle shots while hanging upside down from helicopters. That era has ended, and now, with high-resolution cameras mounted on drones, the photography we see in these moments is truly exceptional.
Earthquake
On April 14, 2025, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near San Diego, shaking the region and prompting residents to take precautionary measures. The quake was centered about 10 miles east of the city, and while it was felt widely, there were no reports of significant injuries or major structural damage. Some residents experienced minor incidents, such as items falling from shelves, like myself. 🤣
At the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, the earthquake provided a remarkable glimpse into the social dynamics of the elephants. During the quake, a herd of elephants instinctively formed a protective circle around their youngest calves. This behavior was captured on video and showcased the strong maternal instincts and social bonds within the herd. The elephants’ quick reaction to safeguard their young demonstrated their intelligence and ability to respond to emergencies cohesively.

Feel The Bern
Before making a surprise appearance at Coachella 2025, Bernie Sanders spoke at an event humorously dubbed “Bernella.” This gathering in Los Angeles allowed Sanders to connect with young voters and discuss important political issues. Known for his progressive stance, Sanders encouraged the youth to “stand up and fight” for their beliefs, setting the stage for his subsequent appearance at Coachella, where he continued to engage with a broader audience.
Coachella, one of the world’s most famous music and arts festivals, takes place annually in Indio, California. It draws a diverse crowd, from teenagers to older adults, eager to enjoy performances by top artists across various genres. The festival is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, art installations, and celebrity sightings, making it a cultural phenomenon. Contrary to the misconceptions of some conservative radio hosts on at 5 pm—who might only comment on Coachella if they’ve actually been there—the festival isn’t just for the wealthy or older individuals. It attracts a massive audience, including many young people who save up to experience its unique offerings. The rapid sell-out of tickets each year underscores its broad appeal and accessibility. So perhaps those hosts should trade their microphones for festival wristbands and see the excitement for themselves.
Bernie Sanders: The Pied Piper of Politics. You know, it’s always a spectacle to see Bernie Sanders rallying a crowd that’s a mix of young whippersnappers and those who probably still have a tie-dye shirt or two in their wardrobe. It’s like a political Woodstock, minus the mud and questionable food choices.
The young folks are drawn to Bernie like moths to a flame—or like college students to free pizza. They love his progressive ideas, his passion for change, and let’s be honest, his wild hand gestures that could probably power a small wind turbine. Then there’s the older crowd, who seem to have time-traveled straight from the 60s, peace signs in one hand and organic kale smoothies in the other. These are the original flower children, the ones who probably still have “Make Love, Not War” bumper stickers on their vintage Volkswagens. They’re here for the nostalgia, the idealism, and maybe just a little bit for the chance to relive their glory days without the hassle of a time machine.
Together, these two groups create a unique blend of energy and enthusiasm. It’s like watching a rock concert where the band is made up of a wise old sage and a bunch of enthusiastic roadies. And who knows, maybe this mix is exactly what the world needs—a little wisdom from the past combined with the fresh ideas of the future. Just make sure to bring your tie-dye shirts.
