iPhone 13 and iPad Mini

Hello, world. For those of you that are finding my blog for the first time. Yes! It’s back and in its final interaction. Decided on a catchy blog name – bigwasteoftime.com. Hey, it’s easy and catchy to tell people. ‘Hey did you read your ‘bigwasteoftime’. Sure did. Let us start with some interesting news and then I’ll cover some recent events.

iPhone 13 launched and early order people will be getting their hands on it this Friday. This iPhone is really a shrugged shoulder who cares model. Nothing exciting. Not even a big spec jump. If you have an iPhone XR or iPhone 11 it’s then a worthwhile upgrade. iPhone 12 (any version) I’d hang onto your existing model. When Leo Laporte says ‘I’m not buying this one’ it’s kinda a big deal. Though to be fair, he did buy his wife one who had last year’s model.

As far as reviews though. I usually go with Marques Brownlee for how in-depth his reviews are. So good.

Perhaps the most interesting is the iPad Mini. Big spec improvement. Good price point. But still not quite the iPad Pro models that I’m used to.

Kids. Kids. Kids.

We had a family dinner last Sunday and had the near entire family over. Lots of talk and good times. The funniest moments were perhaps my oldest step-son Derek had a weird-looking screen on his iPhone. Drastically reduced light and what looked like a spotlight showing in the corner. Definitely not normal. Someone finally asked what was up with his phone and the answer….I dropped it in the shower. I officially know someone that showers and watches videos while in the shower. Time will tell how long it takes before he makes a trip to the genius bar. My bet is the motherboard got wet/damaged in which case he might as well start preparing for a new phone.

It looks like my step-daughter Lauren got into a new apartment. Also looks like she booked her flight home for Christmas. So some positivity!

In closure today, I’m missing Norm McDonald. Damn, he was good.
