Good morning, everyone! It’s time for my Saturday blog post. I intended to post it earlier, but golf got in the way. Before I dive into that, my buddy Eric mentioned he had never heard of Creed. Since they just had a concert last week, I’ll play some of their music now. DJ, play that song!
We had a delightful evening with the Thomas’ at a charming French restaurant. Yours truly got a taste of the finer things in life, feeling quite fancy for the night. True to form, I played it safe and stuck with their steak—classic me! Great food, great company, and always a fantastic time whenever we get out.
Fall. Pumpkins
It feels like we’re bringing back pumpkin spice and pumpkin-themed treats earlier every year. Personally, I’m all for the arrival of fall and the pumpkin spice craze—whether it’s in drinks, pumpkin bread, or the classic pumpkin pie, nothing quite compares!
I wish I just stopped at liking Pumpkin drinks, but I’m also into Halloween, Halloween movies, and just the entire season. Yes, I know it’s way early and it’s only August 😂
Sydney Sweeney has been leaning heavily into her endorsement of jeans, specifically highlighting how they fit her.
If you need a laugh today, the below might do it.
President Trump and Putin Meeting
I’m not entirely sure why this was deemed necessary. If we’re handing out participation trophies, perhaps one could argue he earned it for the effort. But here’s the reality: Russia invaded a sovereign nation, causing the tragic deaths of countless innocent civilians, including children. It was an entirely avoidable act, driven by the whims of Vlad. To roll out the red carpet, stage grandiose displays, and shower him with praise—let’s just say I strongly disagree. Even the B-52 bomber flyover accompanied by F-22 Raptor escorts, which some hailed as a show of strength, feels like an unnecessary waste of resources, especially given the underwhelming results. Truly powerful nations don’t need to rely on such overt displays of force.
It’s worth considering what such gestures actually achieve. Are they meant to intimidate? Impress? Or perhaps distract from the deeper issues at hand? The optics of these displays may resonate with some, but they do little to address the fundamental problems. At the heart of it, the conflict remains unresolved, lives continue to be lost, and the humanitarian crisis worsens by the day. Instead of focusing on theatrics, wouldn’t it be more impactful to invest in meaningful diplomacy or relief efforts? True leadership is demonstrated through actions that prioritize peace and stability, not through showcasing military might or pandering to egos.
I don’t understand the video of him walking the red carpet. Speaking of the red carpet, it’s surprising that military soldiers, who should be focused on serving the country, were tasked with laying it out. Don’t we have more important duties for them? And when he walks the red carpet, it seems like he struggles to stay on a straight path.
Professor Galloway had a decent take…

Lastly….
Terence Stamp brought a rare mix of poise, intensity, and curiosity to six decades of screen work. From the cool fire of his 1960s breakthrough roles to the commanding menace of General Zod, he kept evolving rather than repeating himself. As Stick in Elektra he gave the mentor archetype a lean spiritual toughness, and as the voice of Jor‑El in Smallville he lent Superman’s mythology a dignified, ambiguous fatherly presence for a new generation. Whether on screen or in voice, he made stillness feel electric. A distinctive actor whose gaze, cadence, and integrity will continue to resonate. Farewell.
