Good morning! I’m back at it. Yes, I’ve managed to blog two days in a row. My goal is to publish a post each day until the end of the year. Will I succeed? I hope so! I’ll do my best.
My biggest obstacle? Myself. I often string together many blog posts but don’t publish them because I look them over and think they’re mostly just not good enough. A motivational pep talk with a friend reminded me that I should just go ahead and publish them and let the chips fall where they may. So with that. DJ. How about some morning music? Have you ever heard the Batman 1989 theme song performed live?
Speaking of what I now call the Batman classic film of 1989. And oh, what a scene it is! Joker struts in like he owns the place, rocking that chaotic charisma only he can pull off, while Bruce Wayne is just standing there, probably wishing he’d picked a less complicated love interest. Vicky’s caught in the middle, clearly thinking, “Why do I always attract men with identity issues?” It’s a cocktail of awkwardness, tension, and a sprinkle of absurdity that only Gotham City could serve. Honestly, you could almost hear Bruce mentally calculating how fast he could change into the Batsuit without anyone noticing. Classic 1989 chaos at its finest!
Government Shutdown
Government shutdown is on for day whatever it might be. Are we at a month or more? A good breakdown of some of it is below. I’ll give my take below the video. Brooks is one of the most sensible Republicans that I enjoy his takes. Sensible. Thought out. Nothing eccentric.
My take: When you’re the minority party with no governmental power, this is the strategy you adopt. Republicans were aware they had one opportunity to use reconciliation, which they utilized on the ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’ They likely hoped to gain political leverage by blaming the government shutdown on the Democrats, potentially boosting their chances in the midterms.
Ironically, one of the biggest challenges stems from the government subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, which were introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without these subsidies, everyone relying on the Affordable Care Act could face significant premium increases ranging from 15% to as much as 500%, depending on factors like age and location. Here’s the key point: if Republicans are genuinely concerned about appealing to their base ahead of the midterms, this issue resonates strongly with their supporters. Many MAGA-aligned Republicans in the South appreciate their health insurance but cannot afford an extra $300 per month to maintain it. If costs rise, many would simply forgo insurance altogether. An article I read yesterday provided a detailed analysis of polling data on this topic, highlighting its importance.
AI Bubble?
I’m a big fan of these tools. It’s the largest tech breakthrough since the .com boom. Bill Gates had a good analysis of it all below. My advice to people: Between ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude, it’s crucial to start learning how to effectively use these tools to get the answers you need. Understanding how to phrase your questions is key—different language models respond in varying ways. Experiment with prompts and approaches to refine your ability to extract the most accurate and useful information. As these tools evolve, mastering their nuances will be an invaluable skill for staying ahead in this rapidly advancing digital era.
Lastly….
I’m a huge fan and follower of Peter Attia and his evidence-based, scientific approach to longevity and medicine. His insights into nutrition, exercise, and overall health optimization have been incredibly impactful for me. In fact, he was largely responsible for inspiring the weight loss journey I began this past January. By applying many of the strategies and principles he advocates, I’ve successfully lost 70 pounds so far, and I feel healthier, stronger, and more energetic than ever.
In the episode below, he talks about protein needs, Creatine usage (everyone should be using it for cognitive benefits, as well as muscle benefits), and Sauna protocols and benefits. But the biggest item he touches on his dietary protein needs. He asserts you really need anywhere from 1.6 to 2.2 Grams of protein per Kilogram of body weight. Think about where you’re at? For myself, it was drastically changing the way that I eat – more protein. Eggs. Time-released protein. Creatine.
He highlights through studies and observations with his own patients that, by the age of 75, both men and women experience significant declines in muscle strength and cognitive function. His research focuses on strategies to delay these declines and extend physical and mental vitality. Currently, his approach emphasizes the importance of protein intake, creatine supplementation, and regular exercise as foundational elements.
Have a good Saturday everyone!
