Exploring the SR-71 Blackbird: A Marvel of Aviation

Good morning! It’s December 1st, and the countdown to Christmas has officially begun. DJ, let’s set the mood with some music—it feels like the perfect morning for ‘Modern English’ and their classic, “I’ll Melt with You.”

SR-71 Blackbird

I was a huge fan of this plane. Even following it when it was on tour throughout the midwest. It seriously looked like something designed for a comic-book movie.

The SR-71 Blackbird is not just an aircraft; it’s a marvel of engineering and a symbol of speed that would make any superhero envious! Designed for reconnaissance during the Cold War, this sleek, ultra-high-flying jet could soar at altitudes of 85,000 feet and reach speeds over three times the speed of sound. With its distinctive elongated silhouette and cutting-edge design wrapped in dark, radar-absorbing paint, the Blackbird resembles something straight out of a sci-fi movie. Imagine pilots zipping through the stratosphere, capturing intelligence while being practically invisible to enemy radar. The SR-71 wasn’t just fast; it was a flying adventure that pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible in aviation!

President’s Numbers and his MRI

It’s becoming something of a cliche as to what crazy thing our President has done today. From his over the weekend saying that medical prices have come down 500-700%.

Today is Cyber Monday, a prime day for shopping deals. Let’s quickly recap: if an item is 25% off, you’re paying 75% of the original price. At 50% off, you pay half. If it’s 100% off, it’s free. But what would it mean if something were 700% off? That would imply they’re not only giving it to you for free but also paying you seven times its value to take it. It’s a humorous exaggeration, but it raises the question—how can such basic concepts of percentages still be misunderstood at higher levels of leadership?

Before moving on, let’s address this: the President announced he underwent an MRI but couldn’t recall which part of his body it was for. Does that strike you as normal? Naturally, when the press requested the results, it quickly turned into an insult fest—complete with accusations of stupidity and jabs at the credibility of the networks they represent. Frankly, it’s reminiscent of a twelve-year-old’s temper tantrum.

Scott Galloway on his Father

One of the guys that I follow in the tech, economic, and social circles in Scott Galloway. Some of his takes don’t align with the softened stance on men within the progressive movement to which I’ve always been at odds. As he’s stated, we want men being men. Anyway, the above is a good interview from Ben Stiller talking about how he forgave his Dad for being absent.

Lastly….

Is it too early to start watching Christmas films?
