Good morning. It’s April 2nd, and let’s get this day of blogging off to the races. I’m back baby! I’ll cover some items of interest to me. But first, DJ, play that music.
Special Election Night
Two elections were held last evening—one for Florida House members and one for The Wisconsin Supreme Court. Take your pick as to which one you value higher, but the Wisconsin Supreme Court was a ten-year nomination. Wisconsin has a reputation for being a purple state. Donald Trump carried the state in the last election by some 30,000 votes. Last night, they voted to instill voter ID into their state constitution but also voted for a liberal to their State Supreme Court. It seems you can be a Democrat and support voter ID. Who’d have imagined that? I’m being tongue-in-cheek.
The Florida races went about as expected. Donald Trump carried Florida by almost thirty points, and Republicans won by fifteen points last evening in the Florida seats.
Small mini-rant: I get exhausted from the overdramatization of our politics. In the last election, Elon and DT said to vote like your life depends on it. This might be the last one you ever have. Then Elon pumps $20 million dollars, and his Super Pac is going nuts in Wisconsin, saying ‘Humanity’ will be decided by this election. Give me a break! Get real people.
Recent Joe.
I enjoyed Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin on Rogan. Not familiar with them?
Francis is a sharp-witted comedian and co-host of the popular podcast Trigonometry. In it, he fearlessly tackles cultural and political issues with humor and intelligence. His unique perspective and engaging style make him stand out in the comedy scene.
Joining him is Konstantin Kisin, a Russian-British comedian and writer, also known for his work on Trigonometry. Konstantin brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh viewpoint, often drawing from his experiences as an immigrant to explore complex social topics. Below is an example of the two of them doing their Trigonometry show with Boris.
Together, these two are not only making waves in the comedy world but are also sparking important conversations about free speech, culture, and the state of our society.
The two were recently on Joe Rogan, and I’ve included a good clip I enjoyed.
Dan Patrick Welcomes Jeff Passan
All the discussion in MLB right now is these new Torpedo bats. They take weight from the middle portion of the baseball bat and move it to the outside, where it’s the dominant hitting area, to create a more solid force. I’m a bit surprised it’s honestly taken this long to do this. Jeff does a decent job discussing this
Apple
Apple is investing a lot of capital into movies not only for their streaming service but to be released in theaters. I’ve missed movies that make you feel like you’re on a genuine adventure. That there will be disappointments, setbacks, relationship hurdles, figuring things out, and maybe you don’t have a conclusion at the end of a movie. This is partly why one of my favorite movies is…Does anyone below get it?
Apple has released the trailer for its upcoming adventure, Fountain of Youth. This could be the adventure we’re looking for, and it looks decent.
Lastly….
I think Cramer said it best below when he said ‘We need less Jimmy Carter and more Ronald Reagan.’
