Bill Maher

Onto something a bit more serious. Bill Maher made a comical segment poking fun at pollsters that ask the question ,”Are you better off than you were four years ago?” Ahh, yes, we were in lockdown mode central and trying to figure out where we could buy toilet paper 🧻 No matter what the answer should always be ‘Yes.’

Christian Laettner is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball players of all time, having left an indelible mark during his tenure at Duke University. At Duke, Laettner led his team to four consecutive Final Fours and two national championships in 1991 and 1992. His collegiate career was nothing short of stellar, punctuated by remarkable achievements and records. He scored 2,460 points, grabbed 1,149 rebounds, and showcased his versatility by shooting an impressive 57.5% from the field over his college career. Perhaps the most iconic moment of his college career came in the 1992 NCAA East Regional Final against Kentucky, where he hit a game-winning jump shot at the buzzer in overtime. This moment, known as “The Shot,” is celebrated as one of the most memorable moments in college basketball history.

Among Laettner’s accolades is his selection to the original “Dream Team” for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. As a testament to his outstanding college career, Laettner was the only college player chosen to join what is considered by many as the greatest basketball team ever assembled, featuring legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. The Dream Team dominated the competition and won the gold medal, with Laettner contributing to this historic achievement.

Despite his contributions to the game and his inclusion in the Dream Team, Christian Laettner stands out as the only member of that legendary squad not inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. His exclusion from the Hall of Fame is notable, especially considering the significant impact he had on college basketball and his participation in one of the most significant moments in Olympic basketball history. His legacy, however, remains secure, remembered for “The Shot,” his college dominance, and his role in the Dream Team’s unparalleled success.

Some Golf….

I’ve never seen two people take as much of an issue with who is away. 🤔

Lastly…..

I’ve grown tired of Scottie Pippen feels how he’s betrayed by the media. He made decisions.

I’m not a huge fan of Stephen A. Smith but in this case he makes a lot of valid points about Scottie. Accept responsibility. Realize you were important but in a different way.
