Nikki Glaser
I believe Nikki Glaser will host the 82nd Golden Globes this Sunday. I’ve always been a fan of her edgy, pushing-the-limits comedy. In my opinion, the job of a terrific comedian is to poke fun at and make jokes (often at our expense) about how sensitive we’ve gotten about certain topics. Well, Nikki confirmed that she wouldn’t be making any jokes about the whole ‘It Ends with Us’ drama. Kinda disappointing as I was looking forward to her pulling it all apart. I imagine some of the executives steered her away from this topic and politics. For those not sure what the ‘It Ends with US’ drama is, just google it, and it’ll make your head spin.
A Real Pain
“A Real Pain” is a poignant and humorous film written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg, released in 2024. The story follows two Jewish-American cousins, David (played by Eisenberg himself) and Benji (portrayed by Kieran Culkin), who embark on a journey to Poland to honor their late grandmother, a Holocaust survivor.
The film explores the complex dynamics between the cousins as they join a tour group to retrace their family lineage. David, a reserved and pragmatic family man, contrasts sharply with Benji, a free-spirited and troubled individual. As they navigate through historical sites and confront their shared heritage, the movie delves into themes of generational trauma, personal identity, and the ways we process pain.
“A Real Pain” skillfully balances humor with profound emotional depth, offering a nuanced look at family relationships, cultural heritage, and the lasting impact of historical trauma. The film has been praised for its sharp writing, compelling performances, and its ability to address heavy themes with sensitivity and wit.
It’s a fun movie if you want to feel like you’re watching a tour of Poland with two cousins who have a checkered and fascinating past.

Magic Johnson along with several others – Hillary Clinton and Bill Nye received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Lakers seem to be making the rounds. JJ Redick thought one of the big reasons why the NBA isn’t doing better is because shows like ‘Inside the NBA’ are saying the product is terrible. Charles Barkley took the time to respond.
“He said something about, ‘We’re the reasons people ain’t watching this crappy product we got.’ I said, ‘Us?’ Like we out there jacking up a hundred 3s a night,” Barkley said. “JJ (Redick), you come for the king you better not miss, because I can get you, brother. Remember, I got your Lakers’ games. You can’t hide them flaws they got. You just a dead man walking. They got rid of (former coach) Frank Vogel, who did a good job. They got rid of (former coach) Darvin Ham, who did a good job. But you came out there thinking you were gonna change things with that same ugly girl you went on a date with. …
“The Lakers stink. He came in there thinking, ‘I can make this thing work.’ Hell you can. Put some makeup on that pig. … The Lakers stink, man. C’mon, man.”
JJ responded with not much. I’ve heard farts in the church better than this.

Lastly….
We’re seeing our good friends Eric and Nicole for dinner tonight, and we’re all excited to try a new steak place that specializes in Brazilian cuisine. Brazilian steak is known for its rich flavors and variety, with multiple cuts of meat served in an endless feast. Fingers crossed that it lives up to our expectations and offers a delightful culinary experience. At the very least, we’ll have excellent company to share the meal with, which always elevates the dining experience. With laughter and conversation as our side dishes, it’s guaranteed to be a memorable evening filled with good vibes and great food.
